During a twenty-three year career in the energy industry, Mike led a transformation of a small regional integrated utility into the country’s second largest energy delivery company and the growth engine for a multi-national energy company. During his career, he has been a champion of competitive energy markets and of increasing the ability of customers to manage energy efficiently. In addition to his business career, Mike has been active in higher education, as a past chair of the Board of Trustees of Becker College where he was awarded an honorary doctorate and currently as a Trustee of Clarkson University.

As Executive Director at OASIS, Laurent provides leadership, operational oversight, and strategic vision for the consortium. Laurent is also the founder of OASIS Green and former co-editor of Greening IT. He represents OASIS in the international arena, serving as an advocate for open standards in matters of policy and adoption. Laurent also develops new opportunities to extend the breadth and depth of future OASIS work. Prior to joining OASIS, he co-founded several Web-related companies, including Traackr and Webmotion. Laurent served as a Media Attaché for French Foreign Affairs and has worked in France, Canada, Italy, Ecuador, Morocco and the United States.

He holds a doctorate from the Sorbonne University and speaks English, French, Italian, and Spanish.

Keith served as CEO for North America for Alstom Grid, where he was responsible for an annual $1 billion electrical transmission grid business, including 15 sales, service and manufacturing sites with 2000 employees. Previously he held several high level positions with Alstom’s Transportation and Siemens Energy and Automation group. Keith led a mid-market NASDAQ software company through a successful turnaround within two years and eventual sale. Keith’s focus with Newport includes industries that are involved in transportation, energy and other infrastructure development and maintenance, via the public sector and public/private partnerships.

Bob Matson is an angel investor in a number of startups. In 2010 he became the lead investor and Board member of RockTech, a Cambridge based software firm that assists and supports the adoption of Linkedin. He is also lead investor and Board member of GXT Green, an economically driven environmental company. At Whitman and associates, he consulted for alternative investment managers. From 1981 to the present, Mr. Matson was a private investor and performed international and defense related consulting for a number of clients. He performed these services as President of Financial Management Group, a company he founded in 1981 to assist early stage companies develop business plans, commercialize their technology, and to raise development capital for them. He also performed investment banking services for mid sized companies. From May 1986 until December 1991, Mr. Matson was a Partner of Harvard Management Company in Boston. Harvard Management manages the Harvard University Endowment. At Harvard, Mr. Matson founded and managed the active global hedge portfolio of two hundred and fifty million dollars. During his tenure, the portfolio substantially outperformed the Morgan Stanley Global Index, commonly used to measure performance. His work required extensive international travel where he met with finance and defense ministers, central bankers, corporate executives, economists, and politicians.

From 1978-1981 he was a Management Consultant for Arthur D. Little, Inc. His work there centered around helping senior management of major international companies with the growth and planning of their business.

Alan is a well respected serial entrepreneur having founded over a dozen companies such as Rapid7, Percussion Software, Axceler,Alan is a serial entrepreneur having started over a dozen successful startups such as Ascendify, AppNeta, Percussion Software, Axceler and others. He founded his first company Rapid7 with John Devine, with whom he eventually launched many other successful start-ups. Rapid7 solves the network security problem in small and large companies. Prior to his business partnerships with Devine, he was a consultant to the investment banking group at Merrill Lynch, developed mortgage-backed securities software at First Boston, coordinated and operated computer graphics lab at HBO/Time Warner. In the late 1970s served as a programmer and designer for the VM operating system at IBM.

Arthur Medici is Metro DC Partner with the Newport Board Group and an investor in startups with successful exits. He has also been a CEO to a number of companies such as Internet Commerce Corporation (ICC), Infosafe Systems and Logilent Learning Systems, a venture-backed California company as well as interim CEO for an 8a defense contractor and an electronic health records start up. Tsuyoshi Taira is the CEO of Tazan International Inc., a Venture Capital and Management Consultancy Firm.
