ENERGY EFFICIENCY INFORMATION MODEL (EEIM) STANDARDIZATION PROJECT

ENERGY EFFICIENCY INFORMATION MODEL (EEIM) STANDARDIZATION PROJECT

Standards play a key role in stimulating the market with products to yield the scalability. A number of standards already exist that define elements of the problem (BIM, FSGIM, Open ADR, gbXML, COBIE, oBIX, eMIX). What is lacking is an information model that allows the stakeholders to automate and scale energy efficiency initiatives. Whether automation is end-to-end or partial, an information model is needed that enables different stakeholders in the commercial and industrial building market to participate in transactions that yield energy efficiencies for buildings. That’s the goal of EEIM.
